This semester in student ministry, Sharon Students did a series titled “Cliff Jumping.”
I saw students leap outside their comfort zone, into the place of unknown where faith comes alive.
By the encouragement of James who said, “Faith without works is dead” and Hebrews that says, “without faith it is impossible to please God,” students and leaders began to believe greater things about God than ever before.
As we urged students to engage…God was stirring in me a cliff of my own.
After a year of seeking God’s will, Shelli and I now see that the cliff before us is one of church planting.
Over the past number of months, the need for new churches to be birthed has been made evident to me like never before.
Through an emotional process of surrender, Shelli and I have found ourselves willing to move as far East as WV, as far North as Indianapolis and as far West as TX…and in the end, God has seen fit to allow us to make disciples in our very own capital city, Little Rock.
Brother Michael and I have discussed this at great length and we agree that I will be able to continue fulfilling all my responsibilities over the summer and into the school year, as we begin rallying support and building a team to see this vision become a reality.
I would greatly appreciate your prayer and encouragement as we stand at the edge of the cliff and we take this leap as a family.
Our family has been blessed greatly by being part of the Sharon family…and it is our prayer that over the next number of months, as we continue working together, that you would be able to say the same about us.
